Pizza Hut keeps raising the bar on ways to embellish a pizza crust
Pizza Hut has topped its stuffed crust pizzas with Lay's potato chips now.
Just when it seems like Pizza Hut has finally reached the apex of innovation when it comes to what can and cannot be used to embellish a pizza crust, it finds a new way to surprise everyone, like its new pizzas covered in crushed potato chips and Cheddar cheese.
According to Foodbeast, the new “Crunchy Stuffed Crust Pizza” is a specialty at Pizza Hut restaurants in Trinidad and Tobago, and it is a large-sized pizza with a crust stuffed with a ring of mozzarella cheese, then topped with Cheddar cheese and crushed Lay’s potato chips to make it crunchy.
A large Crunchy Stuffed Crust Pizza starts at 125 Trinidadian dollars, or approximately $20, and it appears to already be a hit with some of the company’s Facebook fans, who have been praising the potato chip-crusted pizza on its Facebook page.
A fan named Rinesha Hillaire wrote, “I tried it and I loved it!! Best pizza I’ve tasted in a long while!! My fam is hooked on it!!”
“Had it Sunday,” wrote a fan named Maria Lewis. “I love Lay’s….didn’t know it would have tasted so good on the pizza.”
This stuffed crust variant seems to be a success, but it won’t likely be the last we’ll see. Maybe next time they can try barbecue flavored potato chips, or the new Wasabi Ginger chips Lay’s rolled out this fall.
New Pizza Hut Crust is Covered in Lay's Potato Chips - Recipes
Pizza Hut offers up new Garlic Parmesan Pizzas as their latest limited-time menu item. The new pizzas each feature a creamy garlic, Parmesan & Romano sauce and toasted Parmesan crust with a sprinkling of a Parmesan-parsley blend.
You can't just top it however you like though. Along with the garlicky Parmesan-ness, there are three topping combinations to choose from: Chicken Bacon Tomato, Roasted Veggie, and Five Cheese Please.
Chicken Bacon Tomato is topped exactly as it sounds: white meat chicken, hardwood-smoked bacon, and diced tomatoes.
Roasted Veggie features diced tomatoes, red onions, green peppers, and white mushrooms.
Five Cheese Please counts both the pizza cheese and Parmesan that comes on all the new pizzas as part of the five and adds to that Pizza Hut's 3-cheese blend (mozzarella, provolone, and white cheddar).
The new Garlic Parmesan Pizzas are being offered at a promotion price of $10 for a large.

Pizza Hut Just Made A Ridiculous New Pizza With Mini Meat Pies In The Crust
Pizza Hut heard we like pie, so they put little pies within a pizza pie.
The popular Australian-based Four'N Twenty pies Tweeted out that it joined forces with Pizza Hut Australia Tuesday and made the ultimate meat-filled pizza.
The pizza itself is a Meatlovers topped with pepperoni, bacon, ham, beef and italian sausage. That part of the pizza isn't too unusual, but then you get to the crust, where eight little pie bites filled with meat are somehow attached to each other so you get meat in every bite of the pizza.
They didn't get too creative with the name, as it is just being called the Four'N Twenty Stuffed Crust Pizza, but at least they're promoting it as "Australia's favorite lovechild," which seems pretty legit.
We saw a similar-shaped crust creation from Pizza Hut UK, but they put mini cheeseburgers on its crust instead.
For so long, the crust has just been the part of the pizza that ends up at the bottom of the garbage can, but there's no way we're throwing out these little meat pies. Smart move, Pizza Hut.
7. Paneer Soya Supreme
Pizza is growing in popularity when it comes to fast food in India and Pizza Hut wants to be at the forefront. Much like in Pakistan, Pizza Hut India caters to the local palate and incorporates lots of regional cuisine ideas. Like most Asian markets, Indian pizzas are generally spicier and are more vegetable-oriented than those in other countries. Because of religious and cultural beliefs there, it is forbidden to eat beef. So international franchises opening in India have to modify their menu items. You will not find beef morsels on your pizza here. Instead, they offer a plethora of chicken-topped pizzas and lots of veggie pizzas. But the most unique pizza in India has to be the Paneer Soya Supreme. Made with Masala spiced soy chunks, it comes served with chilies, onions and paprika. Also, extra oregano spice packs are included with a typical pizza order in India. As for their veggie pizzas, they come topped with pickled ginger!
New Pizza Hut Crust is Covered in Lay's Potato Chips - Recipes
Calling it their "biggest brand evolution ever," Pizza Hut adds ten new crust flavors, five new toppings, four new drizzles, new Skinny Slice Pizzas, eleven new specialty recipes, and a new logo, box, and uniforms starting Wednesday, November 19th, nationwide. You might remember that I mentioned they might be coming out with new pizzas.
They're calling the new menu, "The Flavor of Now" and with the addition, Pizza Hut touts that there are over 2 billion different combinations to their overall menu.
Here's a breakdown of all the changes (with links to the new ingredients/crusts I've tried so far):
- Sliced Banana Peppers - pickled with a mild tang.
- Peruvian Cherry Peppers - sweet and spicy.
- Fresh Spinach - sprinkled on top of the pizza as it comes out of the oven.
- Premium Salami - cured and seasoned with red pepper, anise, and fennel.
- Classic Meatballs - made from seasoned pork and beef with onions, mushrooms, and breadcrumbs.
New Crust "Flavors" - they basically brush different seasoning onto the crust before baking. The last two, Ginger Boom Boom and Get Curried Away are available for a limited-time with plans to rotate in new flavors. There's no extra charge for crust flavors.
- Hut Favorite (the same as they currently brush on their Hand-Tossed Crust) - a garlic buttery blend plus grated Parmesan and Italian herbs (oregano, parsley, and basil).
- Toasted Asiago - a sprinkle of shredded Asiago.
- Honey Sriracha - a sweet and spicy glaze of honey and red chilies.
- Salted Pretzel - brushed the edge crust with a solution to make it like a pretzel sprinkled with salt.
- Toasted Parmesan - a sprinkle of grated Parmesan.
- Fiery Red Pepper - a blend of cayenne and crushed red pepper.
- Toasted Cheddar - a sprinkle of shredded cheddar.
- Garlic Buttery Blend - the Hut Favorite minus the cheese.
- Ginger Boom Boom - ginger and roasted garlic with a bit of heat from black pepper and paprika.
- Get Curried Away - A blend of traditional curry spices that includes coriander, cardamom and fenugreek.
Sauces - besides the classic pizza sauce that was their standard, there are five others to choose.
- Classic Marinara - their classic pizza sauce seasoned with garlic, black pepper, and Italian herbs.
- Premium Crushed Tomato - crushed, vine-ripened, California-grown tomatoes seasoned with garlic and onion.
- Garlic Parmesan - a creamy sauce featuring Parmesan and Romano cheeses, butter, and garlic. First introduced earlier this year.
- Buffalo - medium Buffalo sauce.
- Barbecue - a sweet and smoky barbecue sauce featuring honey and molasses.
- Honey Sriracha - the same blend of honey and red chilies as the crust flavoring option.

Drizzles - they swirl these on top of your pizza after the toppings. There's no added charge for the drizzles.

- BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger - "Barbeque sauce topped with classic meatballs, hardwood smoked bacon, fresh red onions and diced Roma tomatoes – flavored up with a toasted cheddar on the crust edge and a barbeque sauce drizzle."
- Old-Fashioned Meatbrawl - "Classic marinara sauce topped with classic meatballs, fresh red onions and diced Roma tomatoes – flavored up with our Hut Favorite on the crust edge."
- 7-Alarm Fire - "Premium crushed tomato sauce topped with pepperoni, sliced jalapeño peppers, Peruvian cherry peppers, sliced banana peppers and fresh green bell peppers, flavored up with fiery red pepper on the crust edge."
- Sweet Sriracha Dynamite - "Honey Sriracha sauce topped with grilled chicken, sliced jalapeño peppers, sweet pineapple and Peruvian cherry peppers – flavored up with honey Sriracha on the crust edge and a honey Sriracha sauce drizzle."

Skinny Slice Pizzas - Pizza Hut is also introducing a lighter, thinner version of their Hand-Tossed Crust that each clock in at 250 calories a slice or fewer. There are five versions in all:
- Skinny Beach - "Premium crushed tomato sauce with grilled chicken, fresh red onions, Peruvian cherry peppers and fresh spinach."
- Skinny with a Kick - "Premium crushed tomato sauce topped with pepperoni, sliced jalapeno peppers, Peruvian cherry peppers, fresh green bell peppers and fresh red onions – flavored up with fiery red pepper on the crust edge."
- Skinny Italy - "Classic marinara sauce topped with classic meatballs, diced Roma tomatoes, fresh mushrooms, fresh red onions and fresh spinach – flavored up with a balsamic drizzle."
- Skinny Luau - "Premium crushed tomato sauce topped with grilled chicken, slow-roasted ham, fresh green bell peppers and sweet pineapple."
- Skinny Club - "Creamy garlic Parmesan sauce topped with grilled chicken, slow-roasted ham, diced Roma tomatoes and fresh spinach – flavored up with toasted Asiago on the crust edge."
The Top 6 Korean ‘Pizzas’
Pizza, at its most basic, is tomato sauce on flat, round bread with cheese on top. But what passes for pizza in South Korea stretches the boundaries of that definition. While most New Yorkers would find putting potatoes on pizza to be a sacrilege, Koreans find the combination sacrilicious.
But it doesn’t end there, everything from Chinese food to kimchi is going on pizza, and that’s just a single pizza!
Here, we take a look at six types of “pizza” offered in Korea.
6. Potato Pizza
One of most popular pizzas in South Korea is potato pizza, which contains big potato wedges and sour cream, surrounded by bacon pieces and sweet potato mousse at the crust. Potato pizza is moderately sweet but the ingredients complement one another nicely.
The dish is sold everywhere in Korea but was popularized by the Mr. Pizza restaurant chain, which sells their version for 22,500 won, or about $20.
5. Kimchi Pizza Tang Soo Yook
These unlikely food items, tang soo yook and kimchi, met up and threw a pizza party in Daejeon to create a whole new flavor. This crustless pizza is well known in South Korea’s fifth largest city and includes fried, glazed pork, or tang soo yook, pieces of kimchi, mozzarella cheese, corn, olives and so on. Fans of the dish say the kimchi makes this pizza seem less greasy and more spicy.
The restaurant which invented the dish, Masinae, was awarded a patent for the pizza, which sells for 13,000 won, or approximately $11.50.
4. Chicken BBQ Garlic Pizza
The popularity of “spooning pizza” exploded in Korea after this dish was released. If you want to go the original spooning pizza shop, 5ton Station near Hongik University in Seoul, expect to wait at least 30 minutes.
This pizza, which also lacks a crust, is basically a casserole in a skillet with barbecued chicken, garlic and tomato sauce all covered in a thick layer of well-done mozzarella and other cheeses. The price of this pizza is 13,500 won, or about $12.
3. Flaming Pizza
Why on earth would you set fire to a pizza? Because the folks at Grande, a restaurant located near Dankook University in Yongin, Geyongi Province, believe flambéing the pizza makes it taste and look better. This particular pizza is called apple-brie because it has, you guessed it, pieces of apples, brie cheese and pistachios.
They spray alcohol on the pizza and set it aflame, and quickly let it burn down. This unique approach to pizza has made the place famous. This pizza costs about 14,000 won, or $12.50.
2. Strawberry and Blueberry Dessert Pizza
These “pizzas,” which suspiciously resemble pies, have been featured many times on several popular TV shows in Korea. The Gangnam hotspot, I Have a Dream, popularized the tasty desserts using frosted strawberries or blueberries on a thin crust with powdered sugar sprinkled on top.
It is very sweet and refreshing and makes for a great dessert. The price of one pizza is 14,000 won, or about $12.50.
1. Pizza Hut’s Potato Chip Pizza
Pizza Hut Korea recently released a brand-new pizza called the Cheese Crunch Pizza. The crust is made up of cubes of Gouda and cheddar cheese and potato chips, while the pizza is topped with Philadelphia cream cheese, mozzarella, wine-marinated beef and “premium” green beans.

By now you have all probably rushed out and bought the ingredients to make your own ramen pizza after reading our easy-to-follow recipe. And surely everyone loved this fusion, but might be surprised to learn that it was the concept of SoraNews24’s own pizza fanatic Seiji Nakazawa!
Seiji loves pizza with a passion unlike few we’ve ever seen, but ever since he’s gotten into pizza-making that passion has hit worrisome levels. For example, ever since the ramen pizza he insists on speaking in broken Italian, having us call him “Uncle Pizza,” and wearing a 100-yen store fake mustache.
Uncle Pizza tells us he’s a leading “pizzapiology expert” and is constantly in search of the true limits of this globally loved and versatile food.
Normally, we’d discourage this kind of delusional behavior, but we kind of like that Uncle Pizza comes into work wearing a nicely pressed dress shirt rather than Seiji’s usual wrinkled alternative rock T-shirts.
Uncle Pizza also said that his next experiment involved the hugely popular Japanese chip brand Pizza Potato, highly regarded for their thick cut and extremely deep pizza taste. This gem of the junk food scene led Uncle Pizza to postulate: If one were to make a pizza from Pizza Potato, then it logically would become the most pizza pizza ever!
Wasting no time, Uncle Pizza prepared some pizza dough and blended in pieces of Pizza Potato. However, disaster struck.
Although, it looked pretty good, the Pizza Potato compromised the structural integrity of the dough making it brittle, weak, and impossible to pick up.
Clearly, Uncle Pizza had made a fatal mistake by wasting no time to try his first idea, so he decided to instead do nothing for about a week and just let the concept incubate in his brilliant mind for a while. However, even then, nothing came to him.
As he stared at the bag of flour he began to regret the whole idea. “Mucca arancione, this is impossible,” he lamented, “Why’a couldn’t I have been ‘Uncle Pasta’ instead?”
Suddenly an idea-full light bulb hit his eye like a big pizza pie and Uncle Pizza shouted, “Pasta! That’s it!”
Rather than simply, forcing the chips into the pizza dough, he would first make a pasta (“paste”) out of it.
Uncle Pizza rushed into the kitchen and after minutes of pans clanging and timers dinging, he emerged victorious, and now, Uncle Pizza would like to share his groundbreaking recipe with us all.
Pizza Potato Pizza
- Pizza Potato chips
- Pizza sauce
- Shredded cheese
- Green Peppers
- Flour (Uncle Pizza used rice flour, but wheat is probably OK too)
Crush the chips into little pieces.
Pour in 120 millilitres (4 ounces) of water.
Heat in a microwave for about two minutes, till it’s warm and gooey.

Mush up all the little pieces of chips.
▼ “Do it until they’re unrecogniza-bella!”
Add a cup of flour.
Knead and put in a little more water, about 20 millilitres (0.7 ounces).
Knead some more.
Stretch the dough onto a board that’s been lightly covered in flour.

Add your favorite pizza toppings.
▼ “I like to start with some disgustosa salsa di pomodoro imitazione, ahhh yes.”

Put your Pizza Potato Pizza into an oven for 15 minutes. Uncle Pizza never told us at what temperature though…
When the timer goes off, it’s Pizza Potato Pizza time!
Uncle Pizza dove into his Pizza Potato Pizza like a true pizza aficionado would. Thanks to the well-blended chips, the crust had a tender starchiness to it, like a fluffy cloud of mashed potatoes.
Since, potatoes are no stranger to sauce and cheese, the flavors were a marvelous blend.
There was no denying that this was an ingenious and delicious snack, and considering how it turned out, Uncle Pizza couldn’t have been more disappointed in it. While delicious, the “pizza” flavor of the Pizza Potato failed to translate, possibly because it got watered down in the mashing process. This meant that the Pizza Potato Pizza did not ultimately usher in any new level of pizza as far as Uncle Pizza was concerned.
Far from giving up, however, Uncle Pizza will continue in his mission to explore uncharted pizza territory to seek out new pizza life and new pizza civilizations. To boldly go where no pizzapiologist has gone before.

What Happened To Pizza Hut
When I was a kid one of my favorite restaurants was Pizza Hut. I actually preferred it over places like Chuck E. Cheese, Pistol Pete's & Peter Piper Pizza (Arizona franchise) even though those places had huge arcades & were a bit more kid friendly.
I remember Pizza Hut being a sit down restaurant with a big red roof on the outside. They were different than most restaurants at the time. You KNEW it was a Pizza Hut just by the roof alone, you could spot it a mile away.
What I liked about Pizza Hut was the not so much the pizza but the atmosphere. When you went in it looked like an actual restaurant with plush seating & booths with a red brick interior.
Or some of them would had a bistro type setting inside, both types would have a salad bar as well.
Though they didn't have an arcade, they usually had a table top video game. Most of them were Pac-Man & Donkey Kong but I do remember Tecmo Bowl was at one of the ones I went to.
My favorite time was go was for dinner since it was always a little dark inside & the lighting was dim. I also remember there being a candle at your table. When you went inside there was someone that would seat you and they would give you a menu and a real server would take your order. They'd bring you a pitcher of soda, I'm pretty sure I remember my dad ordering beer as well. They'd give you those big red see through plastic cups to drink out of, with the crushed ice and for some reason I think Coke tasted better in them.
I used to love the promotions they did for movies too. The two I remember the most were the Land Before Time & Casper puppets. When the Land Before Time was in theaters my nana used take me to see it at the dollar movies all the time, afterwards she'd take me to Pizza Hut and order a pizza & buy me one the Land Before Time puppets. We went there so much, I ended up getting all of them. I was kinda spoiled but at the time I was her only grandchild & I only visited her when I saw my dad (parents divorced when I was 4, I lived in Phoenix, AZ they lived in Tucson, AZ about 2 hours apart)
I was little older when the Casper puppets came out, I was about 12 but it was my favorite movie at the time I had a HUGE crush on Christina Ricci and I would pretty much collect anything Casper related. I even collected the Casper trading cards. My little brother had Stretch, that I ended up taking (stealing) it with me back to Phoenix lol, which completed my collection. I don't even think my little brother noticed.
They even has a streetball basket ball for like $5. I think it was to promote the NCAA Final Four at the time. It was in 94 I believe (before the Casper promotion) because I had the ball & I took it to school almost every day in 4th grade and played with my friends (even though I sucked because I was the shortest person).
The last promo for kids I remember Pizza Hut doing was the Pizza Head commercials. They were very similar to Mr. Bill. They a pizza slicer named Steve who was sort of the â&euro&oeligbad guyâ&euro, which usually ended up causing Pizza Head some sort of pain. Pretty sure he came about in the mid to late 90's.
A few years ago I started reflecting back on all the fun memories I had eating at Pizza Hut, whether it was celebrating after a little league game or just a family outing, I always had a good time. I wanted to capture that feeling again. So I called my cousin & asked him if he wanted to eat at Pizza Hut, and we ended up meeting at the location I had gone to when I was younger. It no longer had that famous red roof but I didn't think anything of it. I went in and was completely shocked. It had that cheap plastic seating, there was nobody there to seat you at a table and you ordered your pizza from a giant menu on the wall like McDonald's. I was crushed, it just didn't feel right. I'm pretty sure the quality of the pizza went down too. Sadly all the fond memories were gone & Pizza Hut is no longer a restaurantâ&euro¦. it's a fast food joint.
We Taste-Tested the New Lay's Mystery Flavors and This Is What HappenedLays
It's that time of year again! New Lay's potato chip flavors are upon us.
The annual Do Us a Flavor contest, in which snack lovers all over the country try to think of the weirdest, wackiest and most delicious chip combinations, is just wrapping up. The four flavor finalists have been selected, and the team at E! was lucky enough to get a sneak peek before they're announced next week. Naturally we dropped all of our actual work in a heartbreak to break for snack time.
But there's a catch this year. The finalists are actually mystery flavors—no one knows what they're actually supposed to taste like except a few select people (the team at Lay's and the chip creators included). That means we conducted a blind taste test.
The E! souls who were brave enough to go where no taste bud had gone before gathered together for a potato chip adventure—and to try and guess the flavors, of course. We had each person give the four different chips a go, and then decide what they think the flavor actually is. What we found is that, well, it's extremely hard to guess a chip flavor without knowing what it is. Either that or our collective taste buds are extremely different from one another. It's probably a little bit of both.
Ahead our each of our guesses for the chip flavors, to get you amped for your turn at chip mania when the Lays flavors are unveiled later this month. Like we said, our results are pretty different, so you'll either love it or hate it. Oh, and keep an eye on the #DoUsAFlavor hashtag for hints before the big flavor reveal.

Pizza Hut Mozzarella Poppers Pizza could be the new pizza that brings cheese lovers to the table. While the pizza giant has been bringing tasty pizzas to families&rsquo tables for more than 60 years, the newest pizza innovation is the cheesiest yet. Are you ready to grab a slice?
Over the past couple of years, Pizza Hut has found that consumers love the combination of pizza and appetizers. The popularity of the popper crusts is tremendous. People cannot get enough of the combination.
The new Mozzarella Popper Pizza adds &ldquo16 crispy mozzarella stuffed squares&rdquo to the crust. The squares are seasoned with a &ldquomix of garlic, onion, parmesan, Italian seasonings, parsley, basil, oregano and of course, mozzarella cheese.&rdquo Plus, with some marinara sauce on the side, it can be hard to decide which part of the pizza to eat first.
In a way, this new pizza puts the mozzarella stick on the pizza. Why should people have to decide on an appetizer or pizza when they can have both? But, this special pizza will be around just for a limited time, although the exact duration is unclear.
For Pizza Hut, the stuffed crust pizzas have become quite popular with guests. While the meat lovers and other specialty pizzas get bit attention, there is something about a little extra in that buttery crust that just makes people happy.
