We clean and wash the lettuce in several waters, then we pass it under a stream of cold water to rinse all the sand from the leaves.
We cut the salad into suitable strips.
Peeled green onions are washed and cut into rounds, put in a pot with smoked bacon cut into small cubes.
Turn on the heat, let the onion lightly simmer in the fat left by the bacon, add the chopped pepper.
Raw ham / prosciutto is cut into strips, then added over the rest of the ingredients that are sautéed over low heat in the pot.
Stir and let the ham lightly fry for a few minutes, add salt and pepper to taste, pepper paste, mashed tomatoes, bay leaf and plain water.
When the food boils, reduce the heat and add the salad.
Let it boil for 10 minutes, then turn off the heat, sprinkle with chopped fresh greens and serve.
