Corn meatballs

An appetizer, but also a very popular snack are these corn meatballs, which are easy to prepare and with ingredients at hand. You can prepare them with fresh, frozen or canned corn.

In the recipe for corn meatballs, hot peppers are optional, if you do not like hot food you can omit it. Or you can add a sauce to your liking.

Fasting skewers / Egg bread (vegan)

Who hasn't heard or eaten the frigates at least once? These are slices of bread given through the egg and fried in a pan. There are areas where sugar is added and served as a dessert or with salt for breakfast.

I remembered the past few days and because I hadn't eaten in a long time, I thought it would be a good idea to try to make a recipe to my taste, of course.

So I prepared a mixture of chickpea flour that looks great with beaten egg, in which I put some spices for taste (black salt mimics the taste of egg very well), color (turmeric for yellow) and flavor (dill, basil). And I put fresh vegetables on top.

They turned out delicious, you must try them!

Four skewers came out of the ingredients below. Here's how I prepared them:

INGREDIENT:

  • 50 g chickpea flour
  • 4 slices of bread
  • tomatoes
  • radishes
  • Red onion
  • carrot
  • avocado
  • cucumber
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1-2 teaspoons of turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon black salt
  • lemon juice
  • basil
  • green dill
  • salt pepper

METHOD OF PREPARATION:

1. Cover the chickpea flour with mineral water, mix and set aside for at least 30 minutes. Later, if necessary, we will fill it with a little more water, we must obtain a paste similar to pancake dough.

2. Add turmeric, black salt, basil, green dill, salt, pepper and mix again.

3. Cut the garlic clove in half and rub the slices of bread for extra flavor. Then put the slices through the chickpea flour mixture and fry them in a pan on both sides.

4. From the vegetables we prepare two salads: diced tomatoes and onions together with the radish and carrot given through the large grater. And diced avocado along with grated cucumber and chopped onion (preferably green). Put a little lemon juice and salt to taste in both mixtures. Optionally we can also put flax or hemp seeds.

Cakes in the cake

I just finished a delicious breakfast, which we always make after the holidays, already after a few days it seems like a change to the cake.

Ingredient:
4 slices of cake
2 eggs
50 ml of milk
vanilla powdered sugar
Maple syrup

Beat eggs with milk and soften each slice of cake.
Fry until browned on both sides and powder with sugar and serve with maple syrup.

Sweetbread French Toast

There & # 8217s no Christmas in Romania without cozonac, a local version of sweetbread, filled with a walnut paste. It & # 8217s is similar to panettone. But we can & # 8217t eat this forever, so making French toast out of it is a great solution.

Ingredients:
4 slices cozonac or panettone
2 eggs
50 ml milk
vanilla flavored powdered sugar
maple syrup

Beat the eggs with the milk and dip the sweetbread slices.
Fry until browned on both sides and sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup.

Sugar-free French toast with wholemeal bread

We're talking about a vegan french toast because does not contain eggs or other products of animal origin. However, everyone can eat it! In fact, we encourage you to do so. Without added sugar or eggs, it is a much healthier option than traditional French toast.

This french toast is as delicious as the original. However, its fat content is much lower and is perfect not only for people on a vegan diet, but also for those who suffer from food intolerances or simply want to take care of their health.

Nutritional value

The main ingredient in this recipe is wholemeal bread - that is, bread made from whole wheat flour. This one is a source of complex fiber and carbohydrates, in addition to providing B vitamins and minerals such as phosphorus and iron and has a very low fat content.

In this recipe, I replaced the classic milk with almond milk and the sugar with stevia. Of course, if you don't want to, you don't have to sweeten the skewers (after all, almond milk already makes them sweet). You can consume them later with honey.

At the nutritional level, almond milk provides between 25 and 50 calories per 100 ml and is rich in monounsaturated fats ("good" fats), in addition to vitamins B6 and E.

The skewers. How they are made and what you can eat them with

Skewers or - as I used to say as a child - slices of toast with egg were the lifeline when I didn't have home-cooked food or when I wanted a quick dessert. When you feel like skewers, try to serve them with various toppings, not just cheese and sugar!

Skewers, toast with egg, lost bread for francophiles or French toast for Anglophiles. The earliest reference to frigans is in the Latin collection of recipes of Apicius, the greatest cook of the Roman Empire, dating from the 4th or 5th century. In the book of Apicius, the skewers are called aliter dulcia, that is another sweet. The recipe says to cut the bread into thin slices, remove the crust and break it into large pieces, then soak these pieces in milk and beaten egg, fry them in oil and cover them with honey before serving.
