Staying healthy can be a struggle. We live in a world where declaring something healthy is more of a marketing strategy than an indication of honest good intentions from manufacturers towards consumers. With fad diets coming in and out of vogue and new “superfoods” declared each year, we have to be sure to stay educated about what we are actually consuming instead of riding the wave of what’s “in” now. It is important to learn how to maintain a balanced diet, read labels carefully, and make the best choices for our health and well-being.

10 Drinks That Are Just Pretending To Be Healthy (Slideshow)

The approach to a healthy diet is normally mainly focused on food, but don’t underestimate the power of what we drink. Studies done at Harvard have linked high consumption of sugary drinks to spiking obesity rates in America. Most people know that drinking soda is bad for weight management and overall health, but huge amounts of sugar aren’t confined to sodas alone.

Many drinks that promote themselves as healthy are far from it. Bottled teas, smoothies, and sports drinks often contain nearly as much sugar as regular sodas. And while high levels of sugar are certainly a major aspect of what can make a drink unhealthy, this doesn’t mean we should stop reading nutrition labels there. High levels of artificial sweeteners, preservatives, and sodium are just three other health threats that are rampant in so-called healthy drink alternatives. The caloric content is not as high as soda, but you’ll still put yourself at risk things like increased blood pressure, vitamin and mineral leaching, and chronic headaches just to drink something less fattening.

Products that market themselves as healthy may be just as bad for you, but for different reasons than the commonly known ones. The trick is to know what you’re consuming and practice moderation. A basic rule of thumb might be to consider water the cornerstone drink of your diet and other drinks as splurges. It may not be very exciting, but there is no way around it: water is simply the best drink out there for your body. Anything else might only be masquerading as healthy.

Cranberry Juice Cocktail

Registered dietitian, nutritionist, and certified personal trainer for the University of Texas at Austin RecSports Joey Gochnour warns that cranberry juice cocktails actually have “very little real juice and are mostly sugar, sometimes having 30 grams per one-cup serving.” So forgo the cocktail in favor of the tart, real juice.

Bottled Ice Tea

These drinks are a healthier option than soda, but only when they are really just iced tea. Bottled varieties often contain very little actual tea. Even if you choose one with low amounts of sugar, it may be filled with preservatives. Be sure to read the labels very carefully.

The 8 Best Healthy Electrolyte Drinks In 2021, According To Nutritionists

going on. They&rsquore usually brightly colored and sweet AF, and claim to help you crush it at the gym.

Unfortunately, these old-school sips are often packed with artificial colors and an absurd amount of added sugar.

Electrolyte drinks can do your body good, though. Generally, consuming electrolytes (electrically-charged minerals, including magnesium, potassium, and sodium), can be helpful when you're working out for a long time, at a high intensity.

Think long hikes, bike rides, and runs, any workout that runs over an hour, or any time you sweat buckets (like during an intense spin or hot yoga class), says Albert Matheny, RD, CSCS, of SoHo Strength Lab and Promix Nutrition.

They're also a game-changer for endurance training and racing, like marathons and triathlons, adds dietitian Julie Upton, RD, cofounder of Appetite for Health.

Another time electrolytes come in handy: If you're dehydrated, thanks to a night of too many margs or a stomach bug. Electrolytes work by controlling the balance of fluids inside your body. "They are electrically charged minerals and compounds that enable our bodies to perform a variety of functions," says Stephanie Jean, an RDN in the Washington, D.C., area. They play a role in everything from regulation blood pressure to regular cell functioning.

If the levels become unbalanced, then that's when you can start to feel ill. You can experience anything from a minor hangover to more serious complications like extreme dehydration.

Jean says that most individuals don't need extra electrolytes outside of a regular, healthy diet, but there are times that your levels can become low, like during excessive drinking or sweating&mdashor as a result of vomiting or diarrhea, which are conditions that can cause the body to become dehydrated. Though these signs alone don't point to the need for electrolytes, dizziness, weakness, a dry mouth, headache, and just not feeling well, can all signal that you may need to call in some reinforcement.

To reap max electrolyte benefits, opt for a drink that contains sodium and possibly potassium or magnesium, says Matheny. Though you can now find plenty of great low- or no-sugar options, a little sugar won't do any harm if you're consuming an electrolyte drink while logging a longer workout.

Snacking on some Chex is a great way to get the crunch you’re after.

Wheat Chex stands out among the rest of the breakfast pack because it contains whole grains. It’s also treated with essential vitamins and minerals. Consequently, a bowl of the stuff is more nutritious than what you might normally consume. Cereal doesn’t have the best reputation when it comes to healthy choices, but that’s mostly because the popular flavors contain a ton of sugar. Wheat Chex only has around six grams of sugar per cup.

    Agave Syrup

Agave seems like a healthier alternative to sugar and honey because it has a low glycemic index, but it, however, contains more fructose—at least 80-90 percent—than white sugar. Too much fructose can lead to insulin resistance, and eventually metabolic syndrome. Plus, when you think you're adding a healthy sugar to foods, you may end up using more of it than you would with granulated sugar. The result? You consume even more calories than you would if you had just used regular sugar, and you gain weight as a result.

Fat Burning Drinks – 6 Healthy Homemade Weight loss Drinks

If you’re looking for the best fat burning drinks to help you shed excess fat then you are in the right place. But can these drinks help you lose weight quickly? Do you need a fat-burning diet to get faster results?

Well, stay around to get the best answers to your questions because I will not only share the tips but the best drinks that I’ve used myself.

But before I start mentioning the drinks, let me quickly elaborate something so that you can use these drinks with proper understanding.

Can Drinks Really Help You With Your Weight Loss Goals?

Well, it depends on the goals you have in mind. If you want to go down a bit in the size of your clothes, then you can easily achieve that goal.

But, let’s say you are over 200+ pounds and want to shed a lot of weight, then you are probably not going to be happy about the results.

That is because burning a lot of fat requires more than drinking a few beverages. In fact, it takes habit change, diet change, change of your shopping list, and also consistency in your diet.

You may also have to exercise too. It’s a lot to take in but it’s not that difficult. The hardest part is getting started.

But, can these drinks help you lose weight if you have more than 200 pounds?

    YES… With supplements I mentioned!

How Do Drinks Burn Fat In Your Body?

First of all, not all drinks can help you lose weight. That is because there are some drinks that contain a lot of calories. Some drinks are very high in sugar.

The drinks that I’m going to mention in a moment contain antioxidants. These antioxidants help your body by protecting the cells from the formation of chronic diseases.

These drinks are also rich in protein and they have shown to boost your body’s metabolic rate which will then help you to lose weight by decreasing your food cravings.

They can also keep you refreshed and hydrated.

So Does This Mean That You Need To Drink All Day Everyday?

I often get this a lot, and I thought I should just clarify this on this post.

No… There is no need for you to drink these fat burning drinks every day. Remember that too much of a good thing can become a bad thing.

Do not abuse these drinks just because somebody on the internet said they help you lose weight.

Remember that patience and consistency is the key to weight loss. And you won’t drink today and wake up with a lot of fat loss the next day.

So How Do You Consume These Fat Burning Drinks?

That is the easy part. So what you have to do is to choose 1 or 2 drinks from the list.

I think it’s better to try 2 of them a week and change the following week. This way, you’ll be able to find what works best for you.

So, now that you’ve chosen 2 drinks, you only need to drink early in the morning. Also, drink before eating your meals.

This will help you to eat less, meaning that you will consume fewer calories. thus, burning fat!

Now, Enough chitchat… let’s go to the drinks!

The 6 Best Fat Burning Drinks For Weight Loss

Let’s take a look at the drinks I go to when I start to see a little bit of belly fat creeping in on me.

    My Go-To Beverages

    #1 The Cinnamon Drink

Cinamon is one of the best belly fat burning agents. That is because cinnamon can easily help you burn visceral fat meaning that it aids weight loss.

The benefits don’t end there, it is also known to be one of the healthiest spices because it contains antiparasitic and antimicrobial properties.

It can also help lower blood pressure, boost metabolism, and insulin function.

    #2 Chia Seed Drink

Every now and then. I love to make myself a chia seed water drink or occasionally insert them in my smoothies.

This is because they are one of the best and healthiest appetite suppressors. When I take one drink, I reduce my calorie intake fast.

Chia seeds are very high in fiber and protein content. The soluble fiber found in chia seeds can absorb a lot of water and therefore expand in your stomach.

This process alone suppresses appetite. You can check out the chia seed drink right here and indulge your self with a homemade chia seed drink.

    #3 Weight Loss Smoothies

Smoothies have come a long way and they have been debated over and over again about whether they aid weight loss or not. I want to end it right here.

Well, there are different smoothies out there and the only way you can know whether they are helpful in weight loss or not is by checking the ingredients.

The number 1 thing that you need to check is sugar content found in those smoothies. If it contains processed sugar, then that’s a red flag.

That is why I prefer homemade smoothies because they are made from fruits that contain natural sugar. They are also made of vegetables and are high in vitamins and minerals and many other nutrients that are beneficial to your body.

You can check out these 3 fat burning smoothies that are not only rich in vitamins and minerals but also rich in taste.

    Other Helpful Beverage

    #4 Red Tea

The red tea, also known as the Rooibos tea. This tea originated in my home country, South Africa.

This tea has proven to have a lot of benefits for the human body. Benefits such as increasing antioxidants in your body.

Someone may wonder what antioxidants do. Well, they can help your body by protecting the body cells by those free radicals.

If you didn’t know, those free radicals help reduce the risk of illnesses such as cancer and heart disease.

The red tea is also filling, meaning that it can help you stay full for a long time.

    #5 Green Tea

Green tea is not that different from the red tea. It also contains the antioxidants that protect your body cells and it can also help you fight illnesses such as cancer and heart disease.

It too can also help you stay filled for a very long time.

But there is a slight difference than can be a game-changer. The difference between the two tea is not on the name or the color of the content but in caffein content.

The red tea is caffeine-free whereas green tea contains a small amount of caffeine.

But in my humble opinion, both teas are great, you just need to be mindful of your caffeine sensitivity.

    #6 Drink Water

Since each and every drink that I mentioned here contain water in it, I had to talk about water itself.

A glass of warm water in the morning every day can make a huge difference in someone’s life. In fact, that is the basic foundation of burning belly fat and losing weight.

Water is one of the best body cleansers. And just like drinking tea, water can help you reduce your calorie intake.

That is because when you drink water just before you eat, you end up getting full without eating a lot of food.

There are way too many benefits to drinking water. In fact, they deserve another blog post.

Want To Speed things Up And Get Your Weight Loss Results Fast?

I get it, these drinks alone might not get you the results you may be expecting, but you can still do one other thing to help you speed up the process.

I have created a FREE Guide to help you get started with your weight loss. And in this guide, I also have a bonus diet plan that will help you burn fat and give you the results you need.

    6. Ginger Tea

Like her majesty green tea before it, ginger tea is a great way to flavor water with added boosts. Ginger is an excellent natural remedy for all tummy troubles. It has been promoted as a way to sooth an upset stomach, relieve motion sickness and pregnancy related nausea, and ease digestion.

If this sounds like something you might enjoy, brew a cup of fresh ginger tea yourself by steeping one or two thin slices of fresh gingerroot in a cup of hot water. Spoon in a little honey if the resulting brew turns out to be on the spicy side.

Just One Glass of This Drink Will Clear Your Body of All Toxins

Fat Burning Drinks Before Bed To Lose 10 Pounds In 1 Week

Been searching for healthy fat-burning drinks high and low? Perhaps, you think you’ve tried them all and they don’t seem to be working for you.

Don’t lose hope just yet because I got something special that I think you’re gonna like.

Note: If you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed below or maybe have other health issues that can be compromised by the ingredients, I suggest you get in touch with your doctor before taking the drink.

Let’s Take A Look At The Benefits Of The Ingredients

I want you to understand how the drink works and how each and every ingredient helps you with weight loss.

    Apple Cider Vinegar

As you may already know, apple cider vinegar is one of the most beloved drinks with regards to weight loss. But what people don’t know is how the drink helps with weight loss.

Well, the apple cider vinegar is an Appetite Suppressor. This means that it supports fullness. This means that it helps you decrease your calorie intake.

The apple cider vinegar also slows down the time it takes for food to leave your stomach.

    Lemon Juice

Lemon juice or lemon water is known to contain low calories. This means that consuming lemon water helps you reduce the number of calories you take inside.

It is also one of the most effective appetite-suppressors, which promotes fullness.

    Raw Honey

Nobody wants to get used to drinking something that doesn’t taste well. As for me, I have FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) when I started doing something that isn’t fun, like getting used to drinking an awful drink.

So, in order to avoid that, I give it a little touch of sweetness, and that’s where the Raw Honey comes in.

Raw honey is enriched with a lot of essential vitamins, healthy fats, and minerals. It is the greatest substitute for processed sugar.

If you think your weight gain is the result of eating a lot of processed sugars, perhaps you should try a Sugar Detox.

    Ground Cinnamon

For this to be a powerful drink, we need some ingredients that aid other health benefits but not compromise your weight loss goal. Cinnamon is one of those ingredients.

Studies show that cinnamon is classified as a remedy for your respiratory and digestive system because it contains antioxidants and it can help you heal faster too.

    Water

This is no secret, water is very helpful when it comes to weight loss. Water can be used for detox if you need one.

But my favorite one is that water helps you stay hydrated. In fact, I love to infuse water with lemon most of the time because their properties combined give me a very powerful nutritional value.

Now, let’s move to combine these ingredients

This Is How the fat-burning drink is Done

    Ingredients:

    • 2 tablespoons of Apple cider vinegar
    • 2 Tablespoons of Lemon juice
    • 1 Tablespoon of Raw honey
    • 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon powder
    • 1 cup of hot Water

Here is how to prepare this fat-burning drink!

The preparation is simple. You only need to heat the 1 cup of water. Make sure that the water does not reach the boiling point.

When the water is well heated, then add all of the remaining ingredients I mentioned above accordingly and then mix them. When they all dissolved, wait for the drink to cool a little bit and then consume the drink.

I recommend that you take this drink before bedtime. This will allow your body to do its job better while you’re asleep.

Take this drink for about a week to see their effects in action.

Note: If you really want to lose the promised weight, make sure that you do some exercises as well. Jogging for 15 minutes every morning will make this drink effective.
